McCain won with message, not money. I guess he really is the comeback kid after all.
The McCain campaign filed their year-end fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission yesterday â€” and it shows just what dire straits he was in before he proceeded to win New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida.
McCain took in just under $10 million for the fourth quarter of 2007, but spent slightly more than that in the same quarter. McCain ended the year with only $2.95 million cash on hand, and $4.52 million in debts. In short, it appears that McCain is on the verge of clinching the nomination despite the fact that he was broke just before voting began.
I doubt he’s having problems raising money now…
