Everyone loves a little Prince in their life, and on August 6th, we can all pretend to be the petite star as we yodel along to some of his greatest hits in Prospect Park at the Purple Rain Sing-A-Long. In celebration of the 25 year anniversary of the famous album, gates will open at 630pm as fans will stream in and take their spots as Escort takes the stage to lead the joyous singing. The famous film will also be screened, and as warning, because of its rating, the audience entry age will be 17 plus unless you are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
For those who haven’t committed every track to memory, the lyrics will be presented along with the songs, almost like a giant group karaoke session. Which does make it better if you don’t have much of a voice, or know the words. As part of the Celebrate Brooklyn concert series, the event is indeed free but with a suggested contribution of $3. Food and booze will be for sale as always, so go on out there and get your sing-a-long on!
