Oktoberfest is a time for good food, Oom-pah music, and most importantly great beer! and fortunately excellent beer is something that the people behind Philly Beer Week are authority figures on. Beer Week 2009 saw the top microbrew experts from around the country were on hand to host special tasting throughout the many bars of the city throughout March 6-15, and it proved to be a huge success. But before the organizers set out to top themselves June 4-13 of 2010, they have a special Oktoberfest party planned at the 23rd Street Armory.
Spaten is the main Beer backer, so their will be plenty of the Bavarian Beer and it’s Oktoberfest Version on tap. But Kranziskaner, which is the oldest privately owned brewery in Munich will also be on hand as a backer. But to go along with the festive theme there will be 25 other Oktoberfest beers and Pumpkin Ales on tap! The Armory will be converted into German Beirgarten complete with food and Oom-pah music.
The Oktoberfest will take place on September 19th, and their will be two special flights from 1:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-9:00 PM respectively. The party costs $40($50 at the door), but you can sign up as V.I.P. FOR $75 and enjoy a souvenir liter, free food, and an extra hours worth of fest!
