This coming weekend, Seattle basketball fans will have another chance to enjoy the area’s wealth of hoops talent at the 7th Annual Adonai Hood Classic at Garfield High School. The tournament teams boast alumni from four high schools – Franklin, Garfield, Rainier Beach, and Seattle Prep—which replaces O’Dea this year. The Hood Classic was created as a way to “bring together two rival neighborhoods in Seattle – the Central District and South Seattle – in a peaceful venue to help ease long-standing tensions.” NBA players expected to participate in 2010 include Brandon Roy, Jamal Crawford, Aaron Brooks, Terrence Williams, Spencer Hawes, Martell Webster and Nate Robinson. Rosters for the tournament are always very fluid— accommodating NBA players is no easy task—but there is sure to be plenty of talent on-hand.
