There’s still plenty of time left to head to the Irvine Park Railroad in Orange County to visit the Pumpkin Patch and enjoy the great kids’ activities. Â Now is a great time to plan a family outing or picnic at the Park, while the weather’s cool and it really feels like Fall.
If it’s storming, you may want to call ahead; otherwise, the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch will be open 7 days a week.  The Park number is (714)997-3968. From 10am to 5pm on weekdays, and 10am to 6pm on weekends, families are welcome to visit the park.  The county of Orange charges a $4 fee for parking, but admission to the Pumpkin Patch is free.  Pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and in several different colors are for sale, and priced according to size and color.
Kids and parents will enjoy the other activities available; some are free, such as the hay bale maze, the haunted house, and funny Halloween picture figure boards, and others require tickets, which are available for purchase. Â Tickets are $4 apiece, or you can purchase a book of 15 for $45. Â You can redeem tickets for train rides, a 20 minute hay ride through the park pulled by a John Deere tractor, face painting, moon bounces, panning for gold, and more.
Refreshments are available at the concession stand, and pony rides are $4. You can guess the weight of the giant pumpkin for free if you have an email address. Â The winning guess wins the giant pumpkin! Â School and group tours are available. Â If you still haven’t been to the Pumpkin Patch, keep in mind that weekends are extremely busy there, and parking can be difficult to find; you may have to walk a short distance to reach the Pumpkin Patch.
If you’re on a budget, then print a few coupons before you head out for savings on pumpkins, train tickets, and food. Â For an extra treat, print out some of the coloring sheets; when your child turns in a coloring sheet at the entrance, they receive an extra treat for free.
