Harry Reid Keeps Senate Seat

Harry Reid Keeps Senate Seat

It wasn’t the squeaker that was once reported. Looks like he’ll win by 5%, which is a pretty big swing from what the polls were projecting. But we all know it wasn’t a matter of Reid being good. Angle was just that bad.

From the LA Times:

Reporting from Las Vegas — Democratic Sen. Harry Reid bested Republican upstart Sharron Angle to win the U.S. Senate contest in Nevada, a costly, closely watched brawl that pitted one of President Obama’s top lieutenants against a “tea party” favorite.

Outside groups poured millions of dollars into a race that many political observers saw as a referendum on Obama administration policies, which Reid had guided through the Senate. Angle bashed the policies throughout the campaign as doing little to help bring down Nevada’s stubbornly high unemployment rate.

Reid, 70, the soft-spoken, sometimes-prickly Senate majority leader, suffered from dismal approval ratings and a deep-held resentment of his sway over state affairs.

Looks like the Senate will end up 51/49, with Dems keeping control.

Harry Reid won due to overwhelming support from Hispanics. Look at how Hispanic and Asian voters have made the Republicans irrelevant in California. The Democrats are bound to look at the results and determine that they need to change the demographics so that more Democrats will automatically win.

Source. U.S. Census Bureau. Population USA 2009 est. 307,006,550.

A total of 5.59 million Hispanics voted in the 2006 legislative and gubernatorial elections, 69 percent of them for Democrats.

Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent definition and source info Persons of Hispanic or Latino origin, percent, 2009 (b) 15.8%

Lets explore this for a moment. 15.8 percent of 307,006,550 people equals 48,507,034 people are of hispanic origin but only 5.59 million cast votes.

Essentially only about 12 percent of Hispanics vote. Of those totals 30 percent vote for Republicans.

I would hardly reach a conclusion that Hispanic voters are making a difference in any election with the exception of Possibly California and Florida.

Dont even get me started on the Black vote which is even more anemic then is the Hispanic vote because Blacks are fast becoming the minority, minority in this country.

Black persons, percent definition and source info Black persons, percent, 2009 (a) 12.9 percent and falling.

The tea party endorsed Rubio. Hispanic. Scott A black. Yet the tea party are racists. This meme might work for the democratic base but you folks are basically preaching to yourselves. The rest of the country is starting to wake up to the fact that the tea party consists largely of the…….

Libertarians who have formed a coalition with the GOP. They are not really Republicans but use the GOP to get their agenda passed. Much as the PROGRESSIVES have been using the Democratic party to get their agenda passed.

The rest of all this is hubris.

Wickedways First of all Hispanics, are at least 1/2 White, and just because they speak spanish, does not make them a minority. If they are White. No more then someone who speaks greek is a minority. just because he speaks greek. SO IF WE EXCLUDE WHITE HISPANICS, BROWN AND BLACK HISPANICS, ARE LESS THEN BLACK AMERICANS.

ALSO of course Black Americans have always been a minority, and immigration is to keep it that way. BUT BLACKS ARE THE ONLY CONSTITUTIONAL MINORITY, AND NATIONAL CITIZENS, OF THE UNITED STATES. AND THAT MAKES, THEM MORE IMPORTANT, THEN ANY LARGE MOB OF TYRANNY, who vote in mob glory, their own debt, and stupidity.
