So I’d heard that “Cupcake Camp†was a global phenomenon, but that’s really not what sold me. I’m a flannel-shirt wearing outdoorsy type from way back. I’m also obsessed with sprinkles and frosting and cakes and well, everything that starts with “cup” and ends with “cake”. So mix cupcakes and camp together in my current hometown, and I am IN.
Plus, this event is a charity fundraiser with proceeds benefitting nonprofit organizations including Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue (a nationally-recognized rescue that prevents equine abuse and saves retired racehorses from slaughter), InvisiblePeople.tv (which empowers homeless people to tell their stories and connect with support services via online social media) and American Tortoise Rescue (which provides sanctuary and advocates to protect turtles and tortoises all over the world).
On Saturday, November 20th, Cupcake Camp L.A. will give local cupcake lovers (who’s NOT a cupcake lover?!) a chance to sample themed creations, local traditions, new flavors and old favorites.
General admission tickets are $15 and kids five and under are $5. You can also sign up to bake some cupcakes as well!
Produced by Los Angeles-based BakeSpace.com, the family-oriented event will feature a special kids cupcake decorating section and even a college football viewing lounge next door (with special drink rates for Cupcake Camp attendees).
