Barnes & Noble Nook already sold out for the holidays

If you were hoping to purchase the nook ereader from Barnes & Noble for the holiday gift giving season, hopefully you did it before now.

According to the New York Times, Barnes & Noble has sold out of the initial productions runs of the nook, and there is no inventory left for the holiday gift giving season.

It appears that e-readers may be the hot gift this holiday season as Sony has also announced that it can not guarantee that its new device will be delivered in time for the holidays.  Amazon says that its Kindle is still in stock in despite of being the most wished for item on the popular ecommerce site.

While e-reader formats are still being debated, it doesn’t seem to be deterring anyone from giving the new devices a go.
