The new U2 ipod
Despite all the clones Apple still rules the digital music universe, with Apple’s new U2 iPod the new ‘must have’ model for all iPodagogues. Based on the existing 30Gb 5th generation video iPod, this new unit features an all-black stainless steel enclosure, red Click Wheel and custom engraving of all the U2 band member signatures on the back. You also get to download 30 minutes of exclusive U2 video clips free from the iTunes Music Store as part of the package. While it does cost $50 more than the regular 30Gb model, if you’re a fan of U2, how can you resist?

Advances in hard drive technology means that not only can you easily take 100Gb of data with you in a slim, almost pocket-size unit, you have some powerful new backup features. A push button lets you sync (backup) files from your computer to the drive on demand, or you can set the drive to backup files automatically. System Rollback software restores your system to a point in time before your system crashed, while keeping your current data safe and up to date. An easy to use interface simplifies drive management, security, and backup scheduling, while the Maxtor DriveLock Password system protect the contents of your drive for an extra measure of security.
