Backing up your valuable photos or having enough storage space to take your entire collection one required lots of CDs, DVDs or a small portable hard drive. But advances in hard drive technology means that not only can you easily take 100Gb of data with you in a slim, almost pocket-size unit, you have some powerful new backup features. A push button lets you sync (backup) files from your computer to the drive on demand, or you can set the drive to backup files automatically. System Rollback software restores your system to a point in time before your system crashed, while keeping your current data safe and up to date. An easy to use interface simplifies drive management, security, and backup scheduling, while the Maxtor DriveLock Password system protect the contents of your drive for an extra measure of security.

I am trying to use the Maxtor one touch III
to backup all my files in the Dell computer

I’ve made the connection to my computer as you instructed. A light goes on where I you wanted me to push a buton. Nothing happens except that I hear noice in the device. When is the backup complete and how will I know? I am using Microsoft Windows XP. Would appreciate a response.

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows Vista operating system. I already had a Maxtor One Touch III mini edition to which I transferred all the files from my old computer (which had Windows XP). When I connect the mini to my new computer, it tells me that the new hardware is installed but I do not get a Maxtor “box” that gives me options of what I want to do. Is it possible to get my old files on this new operating system?

      Barbara,

Did you ever receive an answer to this? I have a similar problem, and I don’t know what to do.

Please email me at tpenna[at]juno.com with any answer you might have come across. Thanks!
