While camera phones still can’t displace true digital cameras for photographic quality, today’s phones are slowly getting better. One example of this is the inclusion of a MicroSD memory card socket on a growing range of phones, letting you store more photos, video clips and music, turning your phone into a video iPod-style communications device. These tiny cards used to cost the earth, but now a 1Gb MicroSD card retails for less than $100. Larger cards for use in digital cameras have come down greatly in price, too – so if you need more storage space on your camera phone, or your regular digital camera – the time and the price is right!
