Online Time Capsule

By George Gardner

I can remember, as a young boy,  putting money into a machine at my local science museum that would print interesting facts and headlines from the date I was born. dMarie Time Capsule does just that.

You begin by entering a date; followed by selecting whether you want a quick page, or an advanced page. The advanced page provides full customization of the output.

Selecting the “Advanced Page” option will lead you through a series of pages allowing you to select specific headlines, birthdays, songs, TV shows, toys, and books for the specified date.

When you get to the finish, you’ll be able to view and/or print your customized page of facts and headlines that you’ve chosen for your selected date.

dMarie Time Capsule claims to have data online for the years 1800 through 2002; although the information from the years 1800-1875 is sketchy. I have provided, below, a sample of the output page.

Aside from the amusement, this online tool would be a perfect addition to a birthday or anniversary card.
