Learn How Everything Works

By George Gardner

From the inner workings of an Etch-A-Sketch to Quantum Computers, Bed Bugs to Flu Bugs, and thousands of questions in between, HowStuffWorks has the answer.

HowStuffWorks is an online database of easy to understand explanations for nearly any subject. It was founded in 1998 by North Carolina State University Professor Marshall Brain, and matured to be a credible resource for millions of people seeking answers.

Aside from the 100+ categories to choose from, HowStuffWorks has expert “Buying Guides” and helpful “How To Guides” from repairing small appliances to the proper way to clean your bathroom.

I’ve used this site many times to resolve conflicts at work, or just to feed my curiosity. HowStuffWorks has kept me coming back daily to read the ”Fact of the Day” and participate in the online surveys.

HowstuffWorks claims to have no topic too big or too small for their staff to unfold, and their archives prove it. With a site search powered by Google, you can find answers to virtually anything you can think of.
