Haha I found this article entertaining. My response....

1) I have three computers: 1 running on Windows XP Media Center (2005), one running on Mac OS X 10.5 (2004), and one running on Vista Home (2008). I can easily say the Mac is by far superior, even though it is the oldest. It has the least memory, the least processing power, it even has only single G4 processor! Yet it preforms faster and smoother than the other two. The XP is so-so. It's days are running down (a result of Microsoft's lack of ability to make computers last), but it still serves its purpose. The Vista... well it has the most memory and the most processing power, yet it freezes even when performing the easiest of tasks (turning on, for example). I cannot say anything about Linux: never have used it.

2) "You either like him or you don’t." Actually, I have no preference.

3) Um no, Vista is by far cheaper than Mac. However I rather spend my money on somethign that will actually do me good, not just scrap metal awaiting its future in a landfill.

4) Never thought it was late. In fact, I think it shoudl never have been released.

5) What's there to be jealous of?

KEEP XP ALIVE!! Vista SUCKS, and here’s why: 1) Incompatibility with GOBS of software – or it works but not quite the same, 2) Confirmation prompt after confirmation prompt, 3) Programs magically crash under Vista and not XP, 4) Requirement to seek permission from some mysterious administrator, when - OH WAIT - I AM the administrator!!!, 5) DreamScene makes computer (albeit a darn good one) freeze, 6) Inability to install fonts in bulk, 7) Folder settings resetting on their own CONSTANTLY, 8) Graphics editing programs suddenly can’t handle large images anymore, 9) Printers cannot be found, 10) Difficulty visualizing what folder or files are highlighted in Windows Explorer, 11) Switching between Windows Explorer windows takes forever sometimes, 12) Internet Explorer suddenly doesn’t remember passwords or prompt to save them, 13) Desktop search function takes forever and is too complicated, 14) PDF Printer suddenly doesn’t work, 15) Network connectivity is CONSTANTLY lost, 16) periodic freezes, 17) unexplained freezes on BOOT…need I say more!?!?!?!

OK, after reading over 2 years of posts on this site, I had not 1 valid reason as to why people hate Vista. Most people were havin problems installing their old outdated hardware or software installing in Vista. Well, for all your info, It is based on case per case scenario. Example, every machine in my house runs better, faster and more stable than XP ever did. Network sharing through my Xbox 360 and USB had drives through my 6 year old router works great. Never had a hardware problem or compatibility issue. All my software installes...... only 1 did not work properly but Vista said there was a fix and downloaded it for me, now that software works.

The list can go on and on, but if people are to lazy to get off there behinds to learn or understand how to use vista, they might as well go back to a 9 year old OS. As recall we had the same arguments when XP came out.

Vista is designed for the future, not the past. People should take this into consideration when they choose to upgrade their OS and deem whether they need to actually or not.

Working for a major retailer, we sell only Vista systems. People who complained about it were mainly people who didnt understand it. After 5 minutes showing them, they realise the benefits of what it achieves over XP.

Oh, and for those who complained about windows 7 blue screening... remember, its a BETA, meaning TEST VERSION ONLY ( EXPECT IT ).

Last thing then you can flame me. For those people who have problems with hardware/software with vista, blame the manufactures for that. They had plenty of warning but did nothing about it. Windows 7 driver base is based on Vista but with XML signatures, so you are going to have even more problems. Time to upgrade your stuff to stay up to date with the OS.

I HATE VISTA AND ALL OF YOUR REASONS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!
I was so happy when we got vista but after a few days you realize it doesn't work properly! There are so many bugs and errors and the computer isn't even listening to me anymore!!! I can't open or access so many things now. It drives me nuts! And honestly, I love the PC and I really used to hate MAC but now, if I had the chance, I would take a mac over any PC with Vista in a split second!

Heres my comedic response to your "Comedic"
1. your an idiot, anyone with half a brain knows how much vista sucks, not just the fanboys, but the people who have had experience using it as well! The whole thing is unstable, and crashes more often then previous operating systems released by Microsoft.

2. your an idiot, bill gates didn't write the operating system, he has a team specifically for writing windows. Hating bill gates should have no factor in hating windows. i think we should hate the programmers more!

3. your an idiot, i think i speak for most when i say, if Microsoft were to release a rock solid OS much like mac OS or linux, one that could handle an everyday load (without crashing), people would be willing to pay the price to get it.

4. your an idiot, it was late because microsoft scraped the entire OS, and restarted the project, then felt rushed to complete the OS, even with its multiple delays. again, they should have spent more time writing the code, and less time worrying about 'winfs' which never made it anyway.

5. your an idiot, i could care less about the people who like it, seeing people using it every day doesn't make any difference in my book. Let people be ignorant, as long as their happy using it. why the hell would someone be jealous of someone else using software that doesn't work! its like me being jealous because animals can eat their own shit, so what, they like it, but it doesn't bother me one bit.

If you cant understand why vista sucks, don't go posting online with reasons for why it doesn't, it makes you look like an idiot.

Go back to sucking Ballmer's dick, Alex. You're so much better at that than convincing VistaVictims how good they have.

Me, I hate Vista like the plague. Using it feels like being a tester monkey for an version alpha product. Except that I'm not getting paid for it.

Firstly, the 5 reasons mentioned above are not worth commenting on. That would be stupid.

I've tried Vista and I must say I'm not planning to DOWNGRADE my XP SP2/Ubuntu 6 combo for it. XP is halfway to perfect; give it security, fix the problems that causes the numerous BSODs, and remove Autoplay permanently. Boom! Perfect system. Linux and Macs are much better alternatives to Vista. Seems like a good time to try one now, you'll have to start learning where to find things all over again anyway. (Is microsoft trying to hide options from us or something?) Who thought it a good idea to hide the MENU bar by default in apps like WMP11 and IE7. The MENU BAR guys????

Personally, I'm glad that Vista is so ridiculous, UNIX and Apple will get more support due to the monopoly's own stupidity and incompetence. (Can anyone confirm that Microsoft has more marketers than programmers for me?) I think fair trading needs to step in especially now, since for the most part, a defective piece of equipment is forced unto a consumer. I hope the manufacturers will take a stand once and for all. BULLSHIT IS BULLSHIT and Vista is just that! Some say Vista is pretty (personally I disagree), but (in any event) when you go on a computer, do you go on to look at pretty or do you go on to get work done? GAME point.

Vista is slower than XP period. That's the way it is. It's not debatable. No wait, you're comparing a fresh install of Vista to your 7 year old install of XP. That's smart. Even then I think XP will still be faster will less hardware. SET point.

It is a bit unfair to talk about incompatibility and Vista though. XP was the same thing..... No wait, XP had issues because it was new, Vista has problems because it is broken. I personally don't like where the PC is going, not only Vista, from XP onwards, i.e. Vista style, Office 2007 hiding buttons and stuff, shiny unnecessary bullshit. By the way, who thought it a good idea to put in a 400ms delay when viewing menus, autoplay, and office assistant that doesnt assist but annoys?

Technological advancement means doing more on less power i.e. more efficiently. How can it be acceptable to consume half your resources at idle. *BINGO, that's what's causing the world energy crisis. Vista computers wasting power to idle* I wish I had an operating system that booted in 5 secs. and didn't ask me repetitive questions every action I make. Did it ever occur to them that after a week of using Vista, that when a virus does come in and tries to do something bad the user will just click "ALLOW" without even reading anything since they've gotten so used to doing it. So what if you can turn it off, it should not have been there full stop. The 2GB of memory could be put to better use by discovering virii heuristically instead of annoying the hell out of users. MATCH point.

PS DON'T ANYONE DARE COMPARE VISTA TO A VIRUS! VIRII HAVE STEALTHY, COMPACT, AND EFFICIENT CODE, AND ARE WELL MANAGED BY THEIR AUTHORS. I find that people tending to like Vista know nothing of how computers work, and are just voicing an uneducated opinion. I'm a computer programmer and network administrator with some cracking/hacking ability. I think I'm qualified to make these comments.
