Goodbye Tivo, hello Enterastream

November 16, 2006

Klegg Electronics semi-recent launch of the Enterastream Media Server is one exciting product you can’t miss.

The Enterastream is a “home entertainment server” that connects to your television set allowing you to record, catalog, and display virtually any type of media. This product is nothing short of a computer which, at first glance, looks to be one.

With a massive 1.5 terabye hard drive, the Enterastream has enough space to save up to 250 DVD’s, 20,400 hours of music, 1.5 million digital photos, 1,200 hours of recorded television, and more.

Catalog all your DVD’s with cover art, and in-depth information allowing easy search and playback from your library. The Enterastream also supports playback for AVI, DivX, MPEG1, MPEG2 and MPEG4 formats.

Importing media into the Enterastream could not be easier. With built in FireWire, network (broadband ready), S-Video, composite, coaxial (RF), serial port, parallel port, and 2x USB inputs, you can rest assured that it will accept any form of media you have to offer.

The networking capability allows you to connect to the Internet, viewing web pages from your couch, or connect with your computer to download your previously saved video files, music files (mp3, ogg), and digital camera photos. Klegg has even set up a website for the Enterastream to automatically lookup your media information and assign proper titles, artists, etc,… or view your TV guide to schedule programs to record.

The Enterastream comes with a built in CD/DVD+/-RW drive to burn TV programs, create audio cd’s, and to burn to DVD your image slideshows that you create within the media server. The unit comes with a wireless IR keyboard and mouse for controls and functions.

If your a TV junkie, the Enterastream is a must have. With a personal video recorder capable of one-touch recording, scheduling recordings, watch while recording, and watch pre-recorded programs while recording, you can be assured that you will never miss a show again.

You can expect to pay dearly for such a unique product as this. The only way to obtain a price is to schedule a “demo” of the product at your local high-end electronics store.
