Popurls combines most popular sites on Internet

By George Gardner

Combining all the latest and greatest sites on the Internet such as Digg and Youtube on one page is what Popurls is all about. Many Internet scavengers, like myself, are tired of keeping a long list of favorites, and having to manually browse each individual site for the current “buzz”.

With all the hottest content on Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit, Wired, Fark, and about 20 more located on one convenient and easy to read page; I’ve personally replaced over half of my favorites with Popurls.

The concept is brilliant; taking feeds from every popular site, and combining them into sections on one page with the top 10-20 stories  posted for each site. Video sites also have a home here too with small tables displaying the top videos from Youtube, Flickr, Ifilm, Heavy, and more.

Popurls was launched in March 2006 by Thomas Marban, who noticed the ever increasing Internet trend of: “getting more content on less page” by successfully utilizing the glorious RSS feed.
