LG Electronics: life’s better in the future
By George Gardner
LG Electronics is giving us a sneek peak of their upcoming products at the 2007 CES show in Las Vegas; and while life’s good in the present, LG is showing that life will be better in the future.
Since the LG Electronics spin off in 2002, they have well proven to the consumer that they are serious about offering exceptional products; all while making a strong name for themselves. But the future looks bright, and the new products they’re showing off, are more than proving it.
“We constantly strive to push the limit of picture quality, technologies and design,” said Michael Ahn, president and CEO of LG Electronics North American Headquarters. “Our ongoing investments in research and development, more than $2 billion annually, continue to pay off as we always look for the newest technologies to enhance the way people live, work and play.”
Among many other products, LG’s 100-inch LCD Full-HD Display is currently listed as the largest LCD TV in the world via 2007 Guinness Book of World Records. While incorporating the highest display resolution available, 1080p, LG’s 100-inch LCD Full-HD Display is well suited for the best home theaters.
This unit has an amazing 3,000:1 contrast ratio, defined as the ratio of the luminosity of the brightest and the darkest color the system is capable of producing; a 92% color gamut, which is a measure of the available colors a display can genuinely produce; and a 180 degree viewing angle for superior image viewing.
If 100 inches just isn’t enough, you may want to remove your front door to move in LG’s 102 inch Plasma Full-HD Display, which is, again, one of the largest plasma displays on the planet. LG’s 102-inch Plasma Full-HD 1080p Display boasts a super large glass panel, which normally would be cut into smaller panels; thereby creating the ultimate display and reaffirming LG’s superiority in plasma technologies.
The future is in 3D, according to LG. Their 42-inch LCD 3D Monitor, which is their first true 3D display, uses a lenticular 3D filter that provides auto-stereoscopic images, allowing you a genuine 3D experience without wearing those headache inducing glasses. Aside from a typical 3D display, LG has incorporated the technology to use 25 different perspective views (to show one image) to provide a more natural 3D display.
If color is your necessity, your going to love the 47-inch Full HD LED Backlit LCD TV by LG. Using LED BLU technology, you’ll be questioning the possibility of an untouchable 105% color gamut, and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio. So what does all that mean? It means you will have the most intense and elaborate colors possible in today’s LCD HDTVs. That’s not sharp, it’s LG!
