First "Wiinja" mod chip heralds the age of Wii piracy
By John Pospisil
A video of what is purported to be the first mod chip for the Nintendo Wii games console is doing the rounds of the Internet (see video at end of post).
Wiinja mod chip – just a rumor?
Apparently the “Wiinja” was developed by the team behind the DS Ninja chip. The rumor is that it will be on sale next month for around 40 Euros (around US$52).
It is said that it will require soldering to work, and that it will allow Wii and GameCube “backups” to be played back.
If this device turns out to be real, it heralds the age of Wii piracy. Good news for pirates, and very bad news for Nintendo and game publishers.
Still, it’s not an unexpected development (if it’s true), it was always going to happen, it was just a question of when.
Here’s the video. You judge whether it’s a false alarm or not:

This better not be fucking real. I’m sick of people too lazy to get up off of their ass to get a real job. Why do people always have to buck authority. Nintendo has come a long way for this shit to happen.

Congratualtions. Now you can play the games you love without having to support the companies that make them?
