Hello, I found this blog post while searching for help with Microsoft Silverlight. I have recently changed internet browser from Chrome to Firefox 3.2. Just recently I seem to have a issue with loading sites that have Microsoft Silverlight. Everytime I go on a website that needs Microsoft Silverlight, the page doesn't load and I get a "npctrl.dll" error. I cannot seem to find out how to fix it. Any help getting Microsoft Silverlight to work is very appreciated! Thanks

Hey Caleb G., do you happen to live currently, or used to live in North Carolina? I've been looking for a guy named Caleb Gardner whom I left my drumset with about a year or two ago, and lost contact with. If so, email me: silversurfer294@hotmail.com

Thanks for the update, gareth.

As a matter of fact, the version that you link to is the old version of Linerider, Line Rider - Beta.

There has been much debate on whether or not the new version is obtainable, and as far as I know, is not freely available to download.

However, if one must have the new version on their machine, there is another way.

If I wanted to obtain the new version at http://www.official-linerider.com/ , I would probably use one of the handy extentions available for Firefox. For instance, videodownloader at http://www.videodownloader.net would do the trick. Or you could most likely use Batch Download (just do a search on firefox extensions)

The file is in SWF format and is located at http://www.official-linerider.com/images/engin2.162.swf. Heck, you may even be able to right click that link and select "Save As.." I'm not sure.

In any case, after you've obtained the swf file, you will not be able to open it in Flash. This is due to it being a protected Flash movie (there are ways around this), but a more simple approach would be to make an html file that would load the swf file into a browser on your PC.

To do this, I would open Notepad or a similar text editing program, and type:

delme

FLASH SCRIPT GOES HERE

The flash script can be obtained at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_4150

of course, you would need to set the width in the script to 800, the height to 600, and replace all instances of myFlashMovie.swf to engin2.162.swf

Save the file as whatever.html, make sure it is in the same directory as the engin2.162.swf file, and double click it...

Your good to go.
