Windows fans parody Apple’s "Get a Mac" ads

By John Pospisil

The latest “Get a Mac” ad from Apple has certainly stirred up Microsoft’s chairman Bill Gates, as reported earlier today. The “Get a Mac” ads have actually been around for some time, and as you can imagine have spurred a number of parody ads on YouTube.

Windows fans not impressed with “Get a Mac” ads

Here are a couple of very amusing parody “Get a Mac” videos, which may make you smile (whether you’re a Mac fan or a PC fan).

This first video is from Draken Studios makes a sound point about the lack of upgradabilty of Macs:

This second parody ad, which stars Brian Holtzman (the tough guy in the video), questions whether anyone in the real world actually cares about the Mac/PC divide (be warned this video is very rude):

Actually… it’s true that most of the consumer level iMacs are not very upgradeable. But neither are most “all-in-one” PC’s. OK… so I can’t think of many all-in-one PC’s…but I’m sure there are some. It’s like upgrading the graphics card on a laptop… you just typically don’t do it. Many consumers are not really the upgrade types. They probably shouldn’t be digging around in their PC’s internals…but for those that are more tech savy a more modular acessable aproach would be appreciated. It’s the Mac that introduced easy access “no-tools” hinged cases. It would be nice to see a new model with more upgradeability without going to a pro-level tower.
