The 1 year guarantee is not the end of the matter, we have a reasonable expectation of longevity too. 1 year is not it (and hasn't been for a while). It looks like Microsoft have a better guarantee for the current product (which implies a better quality product right now). But I suspect most people who know the market are awaiting the 65nm, quiet DVD drive, 120gb HDD model - due out march? This should be cool , quiet and reliable. British people could do with waking up to their rights.
