The first would be the risk IBM has for the employee who found the explicit chat filing harassment charges. In that instance not only would the guy be liable, but so would IBM (resulting in his being fired any way). The second - what stage was the couple in? Was it afterhours or in the middle of the day? Personally I would have fired them as well. Your workplace is not a pickup joint nor is it acceptable (contrary to employee opinions) to surf the internet (specially to chat or adult sites). In today's world there are too many people out of work who would treat their job with the respect it deserves to put up with any employee issues like these. Finally - it's an insult to those PTSD suffers to claim that he deals with it through adult chat. Find a therapy group and deal with it.
