G.ho.st to showcase Virtual Computer for Web 2.0 Expo
The Global Hosted Operating System, G.ho.st, will be showcased at this years Web 2.0 Expo and is simply a Virtual Computer that runs in any Internet browser. G.ho.st acts like a regular PC with limited functionality; the only difference is that data and applications can be accessed from any browser in the world.
The Idea of accessing a virtual computer on a computer may sound a bit strange, but it certainly has numerous advantages such as accessing files and applications from the office, school, your local Wi-fi hotspot, or at others’ homes.
While G.ho.st is currently in the proof-of-concept stage, your virtual computer does not yet have any useful applications; however, G.ho.st assures us that this will change within the coming months.

Users can sign up for G.ho.st free with 3 Gigabytes of storage, and will no longer need to back up data, update software, or install spyware, firewalls, and anti-virus solutions; data and applications are automatically backed up, up to date, and always secure.
Despite what the G.ho.st developers say, Windows and local operating systems are not dead; but it’s surely a neat concept, and if anything else, just another fun Internet toy to play with.

G.ho.st is surely a great concept. I don’t know much about the technical aspect of G.ho.st but its functionality excites me.. I saw an interview of its creator, Zvi Schreiber. You can read about the man himself and his aims to ultimately move the whole computer onto the web at Los Creador – http://www.loscreador.com/2007/05/29/interview-with-the-ghost-zvi-schreiber
