Say hello to the iGasm
By George Gardner
Have you ever wondered how to upset Apple? Well, a London-based sex shop has done just that, with its advertisement of a genius little sex device, known as the iGasm.
The $60 iGasm, created by Ann Summers, sold on annsummers.com, is a personal sex device that connects to your iPod and vibrates in sync with the beat. The United Kingdom’s News of the World is reporting that Apple is threatening legal action against the London-based retailer for peddling the iGasm.
It’s not the device itself, but rather the advertisement which is causing Apple to take action. The ad (as shown) is an obvious knock off from the images on the iPod campaign.

Annsummers.com, describing the iGasm: “Go at it hard and fast with a pounding drum and bass track or chill with the ambient classic. Just turn up the volume to increase the strength of the vibrations and believe us when we say that full whack is PHENOMENAL.”
As a result, Apple is insisting that Ann Summers remove all posters for the iGasm. “We hope this request to remove it immediately will prevent us having to consider further action,” said Apple lawyers.
Ironically, this move by Apple has given more exposure to the images and the device than they had hoped for; however, I’m sure we won’t see Ann Summers complaining as the whole world now knows how to “take their appreciation of music to a whole new level.”
