Kodak focuses on style-savvy consumer with its new M-Series zoom digital cameras

Kodak has shifted its focus from targeting enthusiast digital camera consumers to style-savvy consumers with its Kodak Easyshare M-Series line of zoom digital cameras. The company today announced the global launch of its four fashionable cameras, which it says are capable of capturing exceptional pictures at competitive price.
“The style/value segment has become an increasing important category in the digital imaging market,” said Phil Scott, Director of Marketing, Kodak Digital Capture and Devices. “Our M-Series line brings consumers the opportunity to expand their picture-taking experience by converging stylish, compact designs and quality digital imaging technology, with affordable pricing.”
The Kodak Easyshare M753 and M853 come in pocket design, available in variety of colors. Both cameras are equipped with 3x optical zoom lenses and 7 or 8-megapixel resolution. Images captured are displayed on a 2.5-inch LCD screen.
The Kodak Easyshare M873 and M883 come in all-metal bodies in silver and black with the M883 also produced in red. Both cameras offer 8-megapixel resolotion and high ISO settings. M883 also comes with a built-in face detection technology, which allows the pictures and videos to be view on a huge 3-inch LCD screen.
All Kodak Easyshare series is expected to be launched before the year-end. M753 camera will retail for US $149 (MSRP) beginning in June. The M853, M873 and M883 will retail for US $179 (MSRP), US $199 (MSRP) and US $229 (MSRP) respectively.
