Free Wi-Fi Internet for Vista users at Apple Mac stores

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Free Wi-Fi Internet for Vista users at Apple Mac stores Got a Vista-powered notebook? Need a free Wi-Fi Internet connection while you’re out and about? Just drop into the Genius Bar at your local Apple Mac store!

In order to demonstrate all the features of Macs, Apple has, in a number of its stores an open WiFi connection and LAN connections on their desktops. Any PC user with a notebook can drop by; take care of their business and leave – as you can see Derek doing in the picture.

It’s a wonder that other PC users haven’t already set up camp in Apple stores. But now that the trend is starting, it won’t be long before Apple stores are packed with hordes of PC users connecting to the glorious and free Apple Wi-Fi network.

Just look at this PC user, Derek, who very calmly and confidently set up his Vista laptop in the Apple Mac store. He checked his mail, caught up with the news, and even played Final Fantasy XI.

Or, if the thought of actually walking into an Apple store makes you sick then it is possible to get a very strong signal just outside the store. It may be a bit uncomfortable if there aren’t any benches or tables nearby.

What is the world coming to when any average PC user can just walk into the Apple store, plop down their laptop and connect to the network. Perhaps Apple should start checking the operating system of computers before allowing them to connect to its Wi-Fi network.

This is enough to make any Apple fan sick.  Someone make it stop!

    1. Steph:

      You’re a jerk…and a VERY typical Windoze user.

    2. Jonathan:

I don’t suppose you want to elaborate on that. As a matter of fact, I’m not, I use a Mac for most of my work. I use a PC for gaming purposes only… if I could use a Mac for gaming, I would…

Most of my day is spent using a Mac.

    3. Wendy Hammond:

Actually, Steph, I think it’s very funny — it just shows that Mac users have got ABSOLUTELY no sense of humor…

    4. lmm:

Wow, that notebook is huge! What’s it weigh? :)

    5. Jonathan Schlaffer:

      About 6lbs, it’s a little less though.

    6. Steph:

Actually, I have a great sense of humor, but get exceptionally weary of how Windoze users feel the need to bash Apple and their products. If your blog wasn’t written in the spirit of “mac bashing” I retract my comment and apologize for it.

    7. Jonathan Schlaffer:

It was meant to show those silly PC users where they stand in the world and we don’t like it when they step foot in an Apple store and set up shop. Don’t worry about the comment, we get all kinds around here. Most of us are used to it by now.

I can see how it could be taken both ways, though.

    8. Steph:

Again, I apologize. I happened onto your blog, read it and responded. I had been reading a lot of irresponsible “news” stories about Apple and iPhone, and was just in a bad mood, I guess. I should have looked more thoroughly at your site before making a snap judgement.

But, hey! Let the PC users come into the Apple stores! They’re going to begin seeing why “Mac People” are “Mac People” and switch over from the dark side ;-) And, once they’ve had Mac, they’ll *never* go back :-)

      “You’re a jerk…and a VERY typical Windoze user.”

You, on the other hand, are an idiot… and a VERY typical Wack user.

“I don’t suppose you want to elaborate on that. As a matter of fact, I’m not, I use a Mac for most of my work. I use a PC for gaming purposes only… if I could use a Mac for gaming, I would…

Don’t worry, using a Mac is not yet a requirement to make journalism and you won’t be sentenced to death for using Windows, did you know that?

“Actually, Steph, I think it’s very funny — it just shows that Mac users have got ABSOLUTELY no sense of humor…”

Agreed and proved right here – must be the fact that they are only 1 in every 10 Windows users.

“Wow, that notebook is huge! What’s it weigh? :)”

I don’t know, but what I do know is that it doesn’t have RSS (Random System Shutdown) like some Mac laptops do.

“Actually, I have a great sense of humor, but get exceptionally weary of how Windoze users feel the need to bash Apple and their products. If your blog wasn’t written in the spirit of “mac bashing” I retract my comment and apologize for it.”

I guess your notion of humour is to insult other people who don’t use what you use and to say you get exceptionally weary of how Windows users feel the need to bash Apple and their products is very funny coming from an Apple fanboy (Mac commercials ring you any bell?). Only a short-minded Apple fanboy could read a news stating Windows users can use Wi-Fi for free in empty Mac stores and consider it “mac-bashing”.

“It was meant to show those silly PC users where they stand in the world and we don’t like it when they step foot in an Apple store and set up shop. Don’t worry about the comment, we get all kinds around here. Most of us are used to it by now.

Those so-called silly PC users know they stand 10 times higher than you retarded Mac users and if you don’t like when we step foot in an empty Apple store and set up a shop that’s too bad, you’re going to have to live with it because the world is ruled by Windows. I can see as long as you are insulting Windows users you are best friends, which just shows your weak moral fiber. And yeah, I’m used to read ignorant Windows-bashing articles and so-called journalists insulting Windows users to try and make a point here by now too.
I can see how only an ignorant would consider these bashing comment to be 50/50 between Windows and Mac users, also.

“Again, I apologize. I happened onto your blog, read it and responded. I had been reading a lot of irresponsible “news” stories about Apple and iPhone, and was just in a bad mood, I guess. I should have looked more thoroughly at your site before making a snap judgement.

You apologize not because you realized how short-minded you are insulting people just because they don’t use the same OS you do, but because you found out the writer of this article is just as ignorant as you are and insults Windows users too because he thinks he’s smarter than others by using Macs, so he’s from your family and you don’t insult people in your family because that’s against the code. That “happened onto your blog, read it and responded” attitude was more like “happened onto your blog, could read nothing against Windows and nothing pro Mac and insulted the blogger and Windows users. You have been reading a lot os irresponsible “news” about Apple and iPhone? What, about how it such a fragile mobile won’t last more than a year? About how it’s so overpriced? About how it doesn’t have user-replaceable battery so when the battery dies you’ll have to go to the nearest Apple store and pay them $250 for them to change something that costs you $25 with any other mobile? About how it doesn’t have 3G? About how it doesn’t have any productivity tools for business people? Must have been one of them, and these are are facts. No, you shouldn’t have looked more thouroughly at his site before making a snap judgement, you should accept onde and for all that you, as a Mac user, are a minority in this world and if Windows has more than 90% of the market it’s not because Bill Gates forced everyone or every PC company in the world to use Windows by threatening to kill them all, it’s because Windows is better than Macs and people know that, period.

But, hey! You can bet PC users will keep coming into the empty Apple stores! They’re going to begin seeing why “Mac People” are “Short Minded People For Whom Any Person Who Doesn’t Use Mac Has A Lower IQ” and leave Macs alone. ;-) And, once they’ve seen how Mac People like you are, they’ll *never* come back and everyone will be happy. :-)

    10. Filipe:

Regarding the article itself: LOL, Macs owned, Windows rule so much you even see them in a Mac store and that PC is the only computer in that store without RSS. :P

    11. Matt:

Not sure what makes me feel more sorry for him… sitting there with a bunch of fruits, or running Windows Vista.

      It’s a tough call really…
