Irish breakthrough: free, constant energy supply?

By Ruben Francia

free, constant energy supply?Steorn, an Irish company based in Dublin, claims to have made a breakthrough in energy production and has invited the public to witness its Orbo technology, which it says produces a free, constant supply of energy.

Steorn CEO Sean McCarthy (pictured) says that Orbo technology uses magnetic fields to produce energy from nowhere and its discovery was accidental.

A live demonstration of Orbo technology has apparently has been set up at the Kinetica Museum in London. The Kinetica Museum describes itself as the UK’s first museum of kinetic art, whatever that means.

The Orbo model consists of a self-rotating wheel mounted in clear plastic housing to ensure complete visual transparency, allowing the public to inspect for any hidden energy source.

The company says that last year it invited the scientific community to test its claims and since January scientists have been putting the Orbo technology through rigorous testing.

Apparently the Orbo demonstration will also be viewable live over the internet at steorn’s web site.

Anyone who has passed high school physics will know that what McCarthy is proposing is impossible, which suggests that this is all part of an elaborate hoax.

The steorn.com web site is slick, which indicates that there are significant resources behind this little fabrication (or at least some talented designers). The name “Orbo” and the fact that Sean McCarthy looks like a university drop don’t add to the credibility of this ludicrous story.

This telling note appeared on the web site today:

“We are experiencing some technical difficulties with the demo unit in London. Our initial assessment indicates that this is probably due to the intense heat from the camera lighting. We have commenced a technical assessment and will provide an update later today. As a consequence, Kinetica will not be open to the public today (5th July). We apologise for this delay and appreciate your patience.”

Having a closer look at the site disclaimer revealed this section in bold, all caps:

THE MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ANY KIND INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NONINFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL STEORN, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF INFORMATION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE MATERIALS OR IDEAS, EVEN IF STEORN HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

And could this be another clue? The registered address of steorn is given as Unit 18, Docklands Innovation Park, East Wall Road, Dublin 3, Ireland, the same address as Datapage International, a company offering “solutions” to major publishing organizations.

Also, Sean McCarthy (if that’s his real name) listed his email address as seanmcc@eircom.net when registering the steorn.com domain name. eircom net is an Irish telecommunications company, that has also indulged McCarthy in the past by running his press releases. Maybe eircon net is just McCarthy’s Internet provider, or maybe there’s a more significant connection.

While this is obviously a hoax, some reporters, who should have know better, seem to have been fooled.

No doubt we’ll soon find out whether this is a prank, publicity stunt or some weird art project, or all of the above.

    1. Sid:

“While this is obviously a hoax”

for what purpose? who is funding this expensive hoax? Do the rest of the Steorn staff go into work each day knowing they are part of a hoax? If so, why?

    2. John Pospisil:

Sid, I don’t know what this is all about, but I can assure you of one thing, steorn is not what it purports to be…

What next? A time machine, a teleporter?

As Scottie said:”You cannae change the laws of physics.”

    3. Martin:

However, we as humans have defined the laws of physics. God didn’t hand us the “big book of physics”. *jokes* . Science has always been evolving. This will indeed be the biggest evolutionary leap in science the world has probably ever seen, *IF* it works! But things are starting to smell.

    4. Learned:

Wow, some great reporting there guy….NOT.

Instead of childish attempts of attacking Steorns credibility maybe you should have spent more time researching just exactly what they are claiming to have. It’s real easy to just write this off as some sort of scam, art project??, or whatever, but I can assure you that you have no clue how wrong you are. Prepare to eat this article with a nice serving of humble pie.

    5. John Pospisil:

Oh, my goodness, I cannot believe that there are so many people who are willing to believe in things that are just impossible.

Given all the problems that energy scaracity has caused this planet I would be the first to applaud such an initiative.

I would be very pleased to eat humble pie over this, but I know that I won’t be…

    6. David Stockman:

Highly improbable perhaps. But “impossible” is one of those words that many a scientist over the ages has regretted using. A healthy skepticism that demands proof must evolve into a curiosity once the evidence is shown. Anything less is obstinent foolishness. Give the man his day, he’s either a jerk or a genius.

    7. 13thHouR:

This may well be a hoax, however the creator of the this article stated “Anyone who has passed high school physics will know that what McCarthy is proposing is impossible, which suggests that this is all part of an elaborate hoax.”

Anyone who actually knows physics also knows that the laws of energy conservation are imaginary nonsense created by a learned person of philosophy, not by a qualified scientist. So they are not valid representations of peer review, even in the most basic form.

If you want the real hoax, look at the junk they have been teaching for the past 100 years and calling it scientific knowledge.

Btw even if this machine was real and the in the same breath laws of conservation really existed in science. This still would not defy said laws as it uses the basic principle of angle of attack, many people have had spiral magnet devices running for years. This is nothing new.

To explain simply it like running towards the rear of a jet engine when it is powered up. if run a a 90 degree angle towards it, you will bounce off before you get near it.

But if you run in at an angle of less than 25 degrees with the flow, you will get launched down the runway.

You can do exactly the same with ions, low angle of attack means that the incoming force is less than the outgoing force. Very basic physics, but for some reason scientists have been ignoring it since the time of Faraday.

Just like they describe Faraday’s ultra high energy experiments as a quirk of physics when discharging electrons above specific saturation point in a specific volume actually returns several times the input energy.

Again this is very basic physics, yet classical physics will not define any scale less than zero point. Instead they resort to ridiculous philosophical arguments of a theory created for the definition of crystalline structure. Quantum Mechanics.

Do you know why Albert Einstein hated QM?

Because it defies the previously quoted laws of conservation, it requires the velocity of light to be variable. It is was variable then the laws of energy conservation must be wrong.

Well in fact the velocity of light is a ‘constant variable’, this basically means it is a constant in relative terms, but when two or more scale relativities are compared it becomes a pseudo superluminal variable or supersubluminal. In simpler terms. its faster than velocity light around you now or vastly slower than your lowest density in this relative scale universe.

Supersubluminal = a velocity which in theoretical terms is a negative velocity of light. –C as an example it 0 velocity – the velocity of light. The different of –C to zero is proportionately slower than your light is faster than your so called zero velocity.

This does not prove QM, it actually pushes it back to defining crystalline structure as it was intended for in the first place.

      Does orbo work?

It is possible. The real laws of physics do not contradict it.

As to if it has been engineered to compensate for density issues that thermal reactions cause, we will have to wait and see.

However are you starting to grasp what the bigger hoax is yet?

Maybe you guess it, it the laws of the conservation of Energy. It’s absolute rubbish and I would challenge anybody to find a single reference in physics that supports it.

The laws of conservation where actually created in a manner in which its said, “a perpetual motion machine cannot exist because nobody has created one”.

That became the basic principle of what was later defined as the principles of energy conservation.

It was never based upon experimentation, it was never open to peer review, and anybody who challenges it is labelled a crackpot by the establishment.

You may think I am joking, but this is genuine, modern physics is based upon such ridiculous comments of an eccentric fool.

My apologies for this comment, but it makes my blood boil when people use high school mentality to try and disprove something they clearly know nothing about. High school physics is about as useful in real physics peer review as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

    8. Ankit Kampani:

hi everybody …… what i am about to tell might be a big joke to but i agree to the fact of constant energy strongrer than anything in this WORLD because of the very reason that it clicked me accidentlly that how one constant source of energy can be harnesd to merely transfer its energy to its subject which is set in motion by the constant source of energy ….
i dint have to be physics professor to figure this out its BLOODY COMMON SENSE though i know energy can not to be created or destroed BUT IT CAN BE TRANSFERED …….i have a lot in my mind about this BUT I dont to where to start so THE VERY REASON FOR ME TO TO LEAVE THIS MESSAGE IS THT I NEED A PERSON TO PUT MY IDEA IN REALITY … I AM SAYING I HAVE THE IDEA CLEAR AS CRYSTAL IN MY HEAD BUT I NEED SOME ONE WHOS HAS DESIGING CAPIBILTY….PLEASE REPLY …. IF THIS WORKS THIS IS GOING TO BE PHENOMINAL BECAUSE I know THIS IS POSSIBLE but only with an efficinet design MODEL THANK YOU
