BJ’s Wholesale Club to ditch HD DVD, chooses Blu-ray
By Danny Mendez
After winning over Target and Blockbuster stores, Blu-ray gains another ally: BJ’s Wholesale Club. With only one studio behind HD DVD exlusively and no big-name retail exclusives, HD DVD may see its demise in the coming months as predicted by Sony’s Peter Dille.
BJ’s Wholesale Club, an East Coast chain similar to Sam’s Club and Costco, has removed anything HD DVD from its 170 stores in favor of Sony’s Blu-ray format reports Video Business, but the retail chain’s website will continue to sell both formats.
Things look even more grim for HD DVD as rumors are floating around the net that Nintendo is developing a Blu-ray enabled Wii. The new Wii (or add-on?) will introduce a new “Wii Watch” Wii channel and a remote control peripheral for controlling playback.
Peter Dille of Sony recently made a comment to Gamasutra that HD DVD will be dead within months. If things continue like they are, it’s only a matter of time.

some of my favorite methods for advertising my wholesale business are Print out a flyer and distribute it to local dollar stores, discount stores, and flea market vendors. This is a great way to make sure that the right people see your wholesale products. Advertise in a trade publication covering the wholesale business, such as Closeout News. Readers are looking for wholesale and closeout deals, so your ad is being read by a targeted audience.
