Perez Hilton launches “The Nightlife Social Network”

By Danny Mendez

Celebrity blogger, Perez (not Paris) Hilton, plans to redefine the way we do “nightlife” by launching a social networking site centered around clubs, bars, concerts, and everything else young adults do late in the PM.

PMbuzz.com is the name of the site and it will launch officially on August 9th at a New York party hosted by Perez himself. PMbuzz plans to expand to other “nightlife hubs”, but, for the time being, the site will focus on the Big Apple.

According to a press release, Joining the site will be free and members will have the opportunity to do the usual social networking thing: create user profiles, identify “friends”, share media, blog, and peruse photos from past club events. But it will all focus on the nightlife scene, so the site won’t become populated with middle school girls and every movie won’t have its own profile. Instead members should find it easy to discover and plan night events, see who’s going where, who’s “spinning” and promoting where, and how to get on the VIP lists to ensure door entrance.

Perez teamed up with Vitaminenergy, Vitamin Water’s take on energy drinks, and Billboard Bands, a company that produces disposable wrist bands emblazoned with advertising, in order to make it happen.

The party will be held at The Grand (41 East 58 Street between Madison and Park Avenues) on August 9, 2007 from 9:00 – 11:00 PM. PMbuzz.com members can enter free between 9:00 and 10:00 PM.
