Google expands Street View with 4 more cities
By George Gardner
Google has added an additional four cities to its Street View feature in Google Maps. Started in May, Street view allows users to view a 360 degree panoramic image from any street within a few select U.S. cities.
Google originally rolled out Street View with 5 major U.S. Cities: Las Vegas, NV (as shown); Miami, FL; Denver, CO; New York, NY; and San Francisco, CA.
However, as promised, Google has given us four more cites to explore: San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Houston, TX; and Orlando, FL.
Many people make practice of scouring Google’s Street View images in hopes to find people in provocative or embarrassing positions. Many privacy concerns were raised after images such as these were discovered.
Google Street view can be accessed bye clicking on the ”Street View” button at the top of Google Maps. Cities that are supported by Street View reveal a dark blue hue over the streets that have images associated with them. Simply zooming in on any street corner and “double-clicking” it will reveal an image of that exact location.
All images have embedded lines which allow you to view the direction (north, south, etc,…), all while being able to zoom the camera and rotate it in a 360 degree view.
