Toshiba recalls 1,400 Sony made batteries

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Toshiba recalls 1,400 Sony made batteries Sony just can’t catch a single break these days.  Toshiba has announced a recall regarding Sony made batteries for several of its laptops made between January 1 and April 30, 2006.  The batteries in question may explode or catch fire.

The models affected include the Satellite A100/105 and Terca A7 series.  Consumers are advised to cease using the defective products immediately.  Toshiba is offering free replacements for the affected batteries.

There have been three incidents located outside of the US but no injuries were involved.  Toshiba says the affected batteries should no longer be used, so it is advising users to remove the batteries from the laptops and run off AC power until the replacement arrives.

The company estimates that there are around 1,400 faulty batteries in circulation or should I say 1,400 time bombs.
