Book publisher HarperCollins hooks up with iPhone

By Arnold Zafra

Book publisher HarperCollins hooks up with iPhone Major book publisher HarperCollins has set up a mobile portal where iPhone users can browse excerpts  of new book releases when browsing the web using their iPhone. These excerpts where culled from HarperCollins’ database of around 10,000 digitized published books.

The mobile portal was ported from HarperCollins Browse Inside portal where the actual flipping of book pages is simulated via the digital book format. This feature enables book buyers to preview the book before buying it.

With this service available to users of other mobile phones, it was just a matter of time before HarperCollins in cooperation with LibreDigital, a company that specializes in book digitization, came up with the iPhone version of the Browse Inside tool.

The only question now is, will the iPhone fanboys even bother to use their most precious tech gadget to read book excerpts?
