This is not law enforcement it is TV ratings. The people who should be arrested are those working for dateline. Its the job of the police to police, not anyone else!

It seemed to me that the reporter was being polite and that Von Erck wasn’t even making any kind of speech at the time the reporter approached him. Generally, when speaking to a group of people, one stands to deliver their speech. He was clearly sitting down until the reporter said “you’re getting in my face.” Von Erck was obnoxious, rude, and unprofessional. Journalism sometime involves talking to people and often involves interviewing people on camera. Kudos to the reporter for not slugging the arrogant prick.

It’s quite evident that the local journalist was trying to do what all journalist these days try and get that “active” reporting “fox” style. It’s pretty sad the way the journalist acted. I’m not sticking up for Von Erck, but honestly he was in a conference that he was a guest speaker at and the journalist came to him and started bothering him, does the journalist want him to be nice? And if he is being rude does it bode well for the journalist to be rude back? No.
