Leaked iPod Nano pictures confirmed to be real
By Danny Mendez
Remember those leaked pictures of the soon to be released new iPod Nano you might’ve seen here or here? Well it turns out that they’re real, and Apple’s not too happy about it.
Apple Legal recently contacted 9 to 5 Mac, where the pictures originated on the web, and asked the Mac blog take them down. Apple never pulls this stunt with product renderings that look nothing like the real thing but usually asks web sites to remove the pictures if someone stole them from Apple labs or if they really look like the real future product. Well, Apple hasn’t contacted us yet, so I’ll post them again for your viewing pleasure.
The new Nano’s screen will take up about half of the front surface area. The other half will consist of the typical iPod click wheel, and it will have more of a square-ish shape. It should be able to play video as well. Thanks to 9 to 5 for the pics.

How do we know that 9 to 5 isn’t pulling some stunt? Saying that they’ve been contacted by Apple Legal, when they haven’t been. It’s getting them a lot of attention.

Sorry to say: I think these ipod nanos look ugly, and I really hope they’re not the real thing. It would be unbecoming of apple’s tasteful design legacy.
