Hackers fix Apple’s mistake: First native IM client for iPhone available

Hackers fix Apple's mistake: First native IM client for iPhone availableIf you recently bought an iPhone, chances are you’re disappointed that Apple’s coders didn’t include a simple application for IMing. It was only inevitable, but some hackers decided to fix Apple’s blunder with their very own iPhone IM application.

Apollo IM is currently getting past its beta stage, with really no configuration options available at all. Unfortunately, for all you MSN, Google, and Yahoo fiends, it apparently only works with AIM right now, and it signs off when you exit to another application or the homescreen.

The IM client is available via the Instller.app packages, so go ahead and install/download the program. For those of you not in the loop with Installer.app keep reading.

Installer.app is a program that downloads/installs/uninstalls third party iPhone applications. Once you install the program, any app that is registered with Installer.app will become available to iPhones worldwide, and all you have to do is open Installer.app, choose the program, and then it’s on your phone.

It’s very simple to install Installer.app on your iPhone. Just check out the Installer.app homepage to learn how. They’ve even updated the process with a new GUI installer for Mac OSX to make it all easier.
