Anti-Piracy group hunts down BitTorrent admins as they flee to safer ground

By Sean P. Aune

Anti-Piracy group hunts down BitTorrent admins as they flee to safer ground It’s not a good day in the land of BitTorrent admins as an anti-piracy group hunts down fleeing admins.

According to TorrentFreak, the BREIN anti-piracy group of the Netherlands is on to the identities of more BitTorrent tracker site admins.

Having already taken down Everlasting.nu, and forcing Demonoid.com to re-locate to Canada, the Dutch piracy police have set their targets on more torrent tracker sites hosted on Leaseweb.com.  They were successful in getting six sites shut down including Araditracker, BitHQ and Peerportal.

They have now followed this up with a demand for the personal details of the admins for three more sites.  Whomever these sites were, they have reportedly now moved their hosting to other hosts in Europe and the United States.

Even though the sites have now left their borders, the BREIN has said they plan to pursue their administrators with the aid of foreign allies.
