Unlocking iPhone: iPhoneSimFree unlock software to begin shipping

By Danny Mendez

Unlocking iPhone: iPhoneSimFree unlock software to begin shippingWe’re all waiting for it. The iPhoneSimFree unlock software is about to begin shipping, but it won’t come near any of us normal folk, at least not right away.

If you’ve been living under a rock or you happen to not care or pay attention to iPhone news, iPhoneSimFree is a website/group who has proved their software unlock for the iPhone via publicity stunt through venues such as Cnet and Engadget.

iPhoneSimFree’s software unlock works through your computer and the Internet, and unlocks your iPhone to be used on almost any GSM network, including T-Mobile. Unfortunately, the gimmicky YouTube and Visual Voicemail features get nixed in the process, but it’s a price you pay to gain freedom from, as many call it, the Death Star.

The software will begin shipping soon reports Engadget Mobile, but it will not ship to regular, individual users. Instead, iPhoneSimFree will only ship to bulk buyers, who will then sell unlocked iPhones or unlocking services to the average consumer.

Because of the gold mine they struck, I’m sure iPhoneSimFree had a good word with a lawyer, who then told them to unleash the software in this manner in order to avoid legal issues. Apple is not one to take copyright issues lightly. It is also possible the software is shipping only to resellers in order to make the unlocking process as painless as possible to the end user, making it even more painless if a software update kills the unlock and a user has to take it in again after iPhoneSimFree updates their unlock program.

iPhone unlock software licenses run for the following bulk prices:

50 licenses: $36/each
100 licenses: $34/each
250 licenses: $32/each
500 licenses: $30/each
1000 licenses: $28/each
2500 licenses: $27/each
5000 licenses: $25/each
