Rumors run rampant ahead of Apple media event
At this point, you need a full fledged score card to keep track of the latest rumors regarding the September 5th (supposed) iPod media event. The only thing we haven’t heard yet is it boils eggs.
The rumors are a-swirling as we all gear up for “The beat goes on” media event tomorrow in San Francisco, and the rumors are ramping up even with less than 24 hours to go.
ThinkSecret is reporting that they have “confirmed” the “iPod Touch” (AKA 6th gen iPod) and it will sport a 3.5″ touchscreen with up to a 120GB hard drive. It is also said it will carry the same form factor as the iPhone, but we’ll know for sure tomorrow.
The most argumentative rumor has been whether or not the new media player will stream Internet radio with a “Buy now” from the iTunes store option via Wi-Fi. Some sites say “yay”, orthers say “nay”. For now, we here at Blorge are in the “nay” camp.
The iPod Nano looks to be certain to get a shrink in size, a bump in storage capacity, video playback, a new interface, and almost become like a “mini-5.5 gen” iPod. It will retain the tried-and-true clickwheel, but that is not too surprising.
Be sure to check back tomorrow when we will bring you all the latest news on the “mystery” media event.
Wait… one new rumor has come in! An anonymous source has said the iPod WILL boil eggs… course… the anonymous source is me, but I felt left out not starting an iPod rumor.
