3G iPhone may hit stores before end of ‘07

By Danny Mendez

3G iPhone may hit stores before end of '07With Apple dropping the price of the iPhone to a wonderful $399, speculation about a higher model iPhone begins buzzing around the web.

There’s a couple things lacking about the iPhone: 3G and a European version. Such things may be coming to the iPhone on September 25th at the Apple Expo.

Earlier in the year we heard reports that Apple is working to introduce a 3G iPhone by November. Itai Kidron, an analyst for CIBC World Markets, said the following regarding Apple’s operations back in July:

“Checks suggest Apple is actually looking to introduce a 3G version of the iPhone for the U.S. market in November, ahead of the holiday season and earlier than currently expected.”

Engadget believes it is very probably that another iPhone model is bound to be released very soon. They cite the fact that the current iPhone model dropped to $399, leaving the publicly acceptable $599 price point available for a better model. What could that better model include? Perhaps it’ll include more storage, but more importantly, we hope it’ll include 3G.

The gadget blog was also told by Apple during the Q3 fiscal call that more information about the European iPhone would be made available at the end of their current fiscal quarter, which ends September 30th, five days after the Apple Expo.

Apple also has a tendency to introduce new products at the Apple Expo, such as when it introduced the redesigned iMac G5.

Although it is mere speculation, all roads point to the same conclusion.
