Steal an iPod Touch, buy music using someone else’s iTunes account
By Danny Mendez
Uh-oh. With the introduction of the new iPod Touch comes the introduction of the mobile Wi-Fi iTunes store. Can someone who steals an iPod Touch get away with buying music using someone else’s credit card?
For those of you who aren’t familiar with all this new iPod stuff, today Apple released 3 new iPod models: the new Nano, the iPod Classic, and the iPod Touch.
The Touch is essentially a slightly slimmer iPhone without the phone part. While on the go with the iPod Touch, and I assume with the iPhone as well, you can buy music via your iTunes account over Wi-Fi.
As easy as Apple wants to make it for you to buy music through their service, the company won’t make it that easy for thieves. Crave reports that Apple will make you enter your password every time you want to buy music. The only time the mobile Wi-Fi iTunes store won’t ask you for your password is during the fifteen minutes following the last time you entered your password.
Essentially, there’s nothing to worry about… unless the thief knows your password.

Apple will have a failsafe where you’ll be able to report a iPod Touch stolen, and track it back through Wifi by your account profile.
Well … I hope they do.

Of course, after recent security concerns about the new Iphone, you can imagine something similar with the new Ipod Touch.
