The Google Phone may introduce free cell phone service

The Google Phone may introduce free cell phone serviceThe web’s buzzing with talk about the Google Phone, but speculators are missing one important aspect about Google’s mode of operation: It offers nearly everything for free, and there’s good reason to believe that it will offer cell phone service for free.

When Google was discussing the idea of bidding on the 700Mhz wireless spectrum, the Internet giant attempted to convince the FCC to make the spectrum free to lease wholesale. The auction should take place by January 16, 2008, so we’ll see what Google does then.

For right now we can suspect that Google is on a mission to revolutionize the cell phone industry to be a lot more like the Internet. Don’t believe me? Google’s CEO even said, "Your mobile phone should be free," last year when speaking to Reuters.

Do the math: Gmail is free. Google Docs is Free. Google Maps is free. Google in general is free to the public. So what would happen if Google were to introduce a cell phone and/or cell phone service? Free service and maybe even a free cell phone.

Although, you should keep in mind this is all speculation, and the picture is an fan’s rendering of a possible Google Phone.

I am verry interested in this idea, even if you get the cell phone and if will just work at free open wifi hot spots, I would be willing to even pay for the cell phone to get the free service, I am disabled, so this means that I could cancel all my phone numbers that I I have & go with just the one. I hope that I could merge my current land line lumber with it.
