Many sites blunder on iPod Touch BlueTooth reports

Just yesterday many sites had grabbed onto an image on several of Apple’s galleries that the iPod Touch had a BlueTooth icon next to the battery indicator. It was even reported that the iPod touch might have had a non-activated BlueTooth chip in it. These reports have all but been crushed by Apple.
BoingBoing is reporting that Apple has reported to them that the iPod touch does not have BlueTooth at all. At this point I think we can all toss up the images that were in Apple’s galleries were just a simple mistake.
So dreams of using a BlueTooth anything with the iPod Touch are pretty much out the window but that doesn’t mean Apple won’t come out with various accessories that you could tack on to your iPod Touch and who knows, it may even come out with a BlueTooth module that attaches to the dock connector. Would be pretty smart if you ask me. It has plenty of features and is offered at a price that some might consider “fair.”

The new iPod touch looks pretty cool, even without Bluetooth. People should know better than to believe pre-sale pics anyhow (there’s always so much speculation about what will or won’t come out).

Yeah, then next month, they’ll release the ipodtouch BT model with bluetooth at $200 cheaper than the original ipod touch.
