Sony’s Playstation Phone to be revealed February?

By Danny Mendez

Sony's Playstation Phone to be revealed February? Sony’s rumored gaming phone may be revealed at the Mobility World Congress, although it seems to be taking an unexpected shape.

Recently, when Sony Ericsson’s Peter Ahnegard shared his company’s thoughts on a Playstation branded phone, he mentioned that we should see one before Christmas, although he wasn’t sure exactly which Christmas that would be. It seems we’re a little closer to finding out by which Holiday Season we should expect a Sony gaming phone.

Mobile Entertainment reports that Sony Ericsson plans to unveil the phone in February at the Mobility World Congress. Although, it won’t take the shape many expect, which is a PSP-like device with phone capabilities. The device won’t carry the PSP brand, but it is unknown if it will carry the Playstation brand.

The gaming phone will feature a games-oriented user interface and motion-sensitivity, which will supposedly introduce Wii-like gameplay on a mobile platform.

Unfortunately, this sounds a lot like the failed Nokia N-Gage gaming phone, but here’s to hoping it’s not.
