Adobe PhotoShop goes online for free

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Adobe PhotoShop goes online for free This is something that is almost inconceivable, Adobe offering a product for free, that can edit photos, where are the four horsemen of the apocalypse?  I’m going to look skyward for now.

Adobe will soon be releasing a free web-based version of its popular PhotoShop image editing suite.  It won’t be as full featured as its $650 cousin but I wouldn’t expect it to be.

There is already Adobe Premiere Express which is a flash based online video editor for creating re-mixes and mash-ups and according to John Nack, PhotoShop Express will do the very same thing for images though it is not yet publicly available.

At the moment, not very many details are available but here is a screenshot to satiate your curiosity for now.  Having said that, it would be far more useful if Adobe would release a downloadable version of PhotoShop Express as well as Premiere Express.

I say that only because there are several (more fully featured) free photo editors such as The Gimp, PhotoPlus and Paint.NET.  But none of them can hold a candle to the greatness that is PhotoShop CS series.
