iPhoneSIMFree gets fix for failure to unlock iPhone

By Ruben Francia

iPhoneSIMFree gets fix for failure to unlock iPhoneIt appears that the original version of the recently released iPhoneSIMFree software solution did not unlock every iPhone. Early unlockers and Gizmodo discovered its failure to unlock iPhones with PIN-protected SIM card.

iPhoneSIMFree software works through a PC and the Internet, and is said to unlock the iPhone so that it can be used on almost any GSM network, including T-Mobile. But several attempts made by initial customers to unlock their iPhones were met by a “baseband communication error”, as reported by the iPhoneSIMFree application.

Apparently, it was discovered that the error was due to the existence of PIN security protecting the GSM SIM card.

Fortunately, the iPhoneSIMFree team has issued a quick fixed to remedy the situation.

“It has been brought to our attention mainly through [the Gizmodo article] that there was a small bug in our code. This bug has now been resolved we will be forwarding the new simfree.app to all our currently registered resellers. All new resellers will automatically receive the updated version.”

“The bug has been confirmed to be related to whether or not the SIM card is pin locked or not, it has now been resolved. AND OUR SOLUTION IS UNIVERSAL,” the team added.
