First gen Apple products may have problems, but I have had absolutely no problems with their service.

Good example, my Mac Mini. Optical drive died a month after getting it, took it to a THIRD-PARTY Apple retailer, because they don't have official stores in Canada for the most part. Had the unit back in 3 days (2 and a half actually) with a new drive, and Apple and the third-party retailer handled the billing issues (the retailer charges Apple for repairs under Applecare). No 3 week wait ala Staples or Best Buy (
both of which have terrible turn-around times).

I adore these ad-based, organic ecosystem of websites: any issues found in any Apple products will be magnified and resolved in due time; the ad companies has driven us all into armchair QA's!
