Will the Zune 2.0 be announced Tuesday?

By Danny Mendez

Will the Zune 2.0 be announced Tuesday? The rumor goes like this: Microsoft will announce the Zune 2.0 and the Zune Flash tomorrow.

The Electronista cites inside sources for the information, which doesn’t fall too far from the previous rumor of an October 16 launch date. Other previous rumors describe the Zune 2.0 as follows:

  • A flash based model will be introduced along side the hard drive model.
  • The hard drive will support an 80GB hard drive. The memory size of the flash based model is uknown.
  • Microsoft will build on the wireless support, which has been confirmed by a Microsoft rep. It is unknown if this will include wireless synching to a computer.
  • The control interface will most likely consist of a touch-sensitive, click-able, squared off circle with two buttons, one on each side.
  • It should look like the pictures posted here, which have supposedly been confirmed by multiple sources.

Update: Yes, it was announced tuesday.
