Wifi T-shirt allows geeks to network

By Luke McKinney

Wifi T-shirt allows geeks to network The stereotype uniform of internet geeks might be a cheeto-stained T-shirt, but thanks to ThinkGeek the reality is  much more stylish.  A wifi detecting T-shirt complete with animated electronics that display the local 802.11 signal strength at all times.

This isn’t just cool, it’s almost evolution.  Constant internet connection has become a natural habitat for many, who become nervous and irritable if forced to spend any length of time outside of electronic contact.  Now they can avoid such dangerous Stone Age locations, with clothes that warn them of a loss of signal – as well as identifying them as the alpha geek to all in range.

Nobody seems to have realized the dangerous side of this electronic ensemble.  Ten years ago the best advantage the technically-minded had over us was that they could program their VCRs properly.  Nowadays pretty much everything runs through the internet (be honest: how useful is your computer when the connection is down?), and once the tech-adept can recognize each other in the street it’ll be the beginning of a new age.

Think about it: always connected to a central network, special clothes that are black mixed with electronics, and now they can recognize each other and work together.  This is the start of the Borg, and your only chance may be to buy a shirt and try to blend in.

One dangerous side-effect: be ready to do involuntary tech support.  If you’re wearing one of these, nobody will believe that you can’t fix your computer.
