In-Fusio releases Line Rider mobile

By Ruben Francia

In-Fusio releases Line Rider mobileFrench mobile game publisher In-Fusio has announced the release of the first mobile version of the internet game Line Rider.

Line Rider is a Flash physics project developed by a Slovenian university student for an illustration class that found its way to the Internet. It has no goal to accomplish, nor does it have an end. Many Line Rider users describe it as an addictive and low-tech time waster.

Line Rider was first launched in September 2006 and became an instant Internet hit with over 15 million downloads within a three month period.

Richard Moureaud, Portfolio Director of In-Fusio, described Line Rider as a perfect application for mobile.

Brian Fargo, chief executive officer of inXile Entertainment, said “Line Rider has great ‘pick up and play’ abilities, which translates perfectly into mobile gaming.”

In-Fusio disclosed that the new mobile offering will feature a lot of enhancements over the original web version.

Line Rider Mobile gameplay is similar to that of the Internet version, with the addition of a puzzle mode, and has several added features including exploding lines and scenery. What makes it more interesting is that players will be able to share tracks with others through a Bluetooth connection.

Line Rider Mobile will be available across a broad range of mobile platforms and handheld devices. It will also be available on all major US wireless carriers beginning in September.

Versions of the game for Wii and Nintendo DS are also expected to be released early next year.
