Take-Two confirms Manhunt 2 leaked by Sony employeeManhunt 2 game publisher Rockstar/Take-Two has confirmed that a former employee of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) was sacked for leaking the PS2’s unedited Manhunt 2 onto the internet last month.

Some reports say, the leaked version of Manhunt 2 has been downloaded by thousands of people around the world.

In a statement published by GamePolitics, it says “Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that a former employee of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has acknowledged his responsibility for the unauthorized online distribution of an unrated play-test version of Manhunt 2 submitted for the European PAL PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system.”

The game publisher, however, failed to disclose how the code fall into the wrong hands.

While the status of Manhunt 2 remains banned in the UK despite the game revision, the revised version will hit the US market on Halloween for PS2, Wii and PSP.

As of this writing, there is no statement whether Rockstar or SCEE will take legal action relative to this incident.
